"PANIM taught me how interconnected Judaism and politics are. You cannot be a Jew without trying to heal the problems of our world. You cannot be politically active without struggling with Jewish values."

**A Special Announcement from PANIM!**

August 31, 2009

Dear Friends,

We hope this letter finds you well. We’ve had quite a busy summer at PANIM and are writing with some very exciting news: Starting September 1, 2009, PANIM will be joining with the B’nai B’rith Youth Organization (BBYO) to establish The PANIM Institute for Jewish Leadership and Values – a Division of BBYO.

The PANIM Institute will continue to offer our high impact PANIM programs, from our signature Panim el Panim seminars, to PanimWorks: Southwest and DC JAM, to J Serve – the national day of Jewish youth service. These programs will provide the quality curriculum that our existing network of synagogues, day schools, JCC’s, and Hebrew high schools have come to expect. Simply put, the PANIM Institute’s goal is to empower a generation of Jewish teens to a lifetime of activism, leadership, and service.

ABOUT OUR ORGANIZATION

PANIM was founded in 1988 by Rabbi Sid Schwarz. More than 30,000 Jewish teens have experienced PANIM programs, with over half traveling to Washington, DC, for intensive multi-day leadership seminars and the rest having been impacted by PANIM programs in their home communities.

PANIM educates, inspires, and empowers Jewish youth to a lifetime of leadership, service, and advocacy on behalf of the Jewish people and society at large. PANIM’s unique approach to Jewish education – integrating Jewish learning, values and social responsibility – reinforces Jewish identity and inspires a commitment to become agents for positive social change in the world. PANIM is training the next generation of Jewish leaders through advocacy training, community-service, leadership training and social entrepreneurship. PANIM offers professional development through conferences, training, conference calls, and one-on-one technical assistance. PANIM is committed to helping the Jewish community realize its historic legacy to advance tzedek and shalom (justice and peace) in the world.

Just: Judiasm. Action. Social Change.

Just is not just a book, not just a curriculum, not just a resource guide, and not just a “how to”manual for implementing social justice initiatives. What we present in this ground-breaking curriculum is a set of textual resources, discussion questions, and planning exercises related to social action and community service. Go to www.justaction.org to view this free online resource.
